How the paths are checked
We take the published four-letter starting word and run an independent breadth-first search over the accepted word list. The first route found at the target distance is shortest within that word list. More than one shortest route can exist, so a displayed route is one verified shortest path rather than the only possible answer.
Each step changes one letter, and the page records the position and the letter change so you can check the route yourself. The approach is the standard breadth-first search method ↗.
What this site provides
The site publishes the latest verified route, ended puzzle pages, and an archive. It does not require an account and does not provide a way to play the official game.
